Hafeez slams PCB chairman Ramiz Raja For Pakistan Junior league
Veteran cricketer Mohammad Hafeez opposed the idea of Pakistan Junior League (PJL) which was introduced by current PCB chairman Ramiz Raja.
In an Eid Special interview on Geo News, Hafeez took a dig at Raja’s idea of a franchise league for junior cricketers.
“When I heard about the Junior cricket league, I thought it will definitely hurt our cricket system,” he said.
“If you involve your players in T20 cricket at such a young age, how will they get ready for the big stage?” Hafeez questioned.
The cricketer suggested the cricket board to reconsider their decision and introduce an opportunity for young cricketers in longer formats. “At this age, you work on the basics. These young players must be involved in longer format cricket,” he concluded.
It must be noted here that the inaugural edition of the PJL will be played in Lahore from October 1-15.
