Dr. Anoosh Masood become first female police officer as SSP of Lahore’s operations wing.

In a major achievement, Dr. Anoosh Masood has become the first female police officer to be appointed as senior superintendent (SSP) of Lahore’s operations wing, the media reported.

According to details, the Punjab inspector general of police made the appointment after reshuffling six other officers. Dr. Anoosh Masood Chaudhry has been appointed head of the Lahore operations police vice Mustansar Feroz, who has been directed to report to the Central Police Office (CPO) for further order.

This is indeed a remarkable achievement as top positions in Pakistan’s police force are dominated by male officers. As per reports, the Punjab Police has around 175000 personnel. However, there are only 4000 women on the force which is less than one percent. Therefore, it is a welcome development for Pakistan when women break the stereotypes and assume leadership roles in the police force.
