ISLAMABAD – Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb said that an anchorperson of the country’s state-run broadcaster who was part of a delegation of Pakistani-Americans visiting Israel has been terminated from service.
“The PTV (Pakistan Television) anchor involved in the tour has been terminated,” she said, adding that the journalist was on tour in his personal capacity.
Pakistani journalist Ahmed Quraishi was part of the delegation of Pakistani expatriates visiting Israel earlier this month, which drew criticism mainly from the opposition PTI.
Foreign Office earlier categorically rejected the notion that any delegation from the country visited Israel.
