#ManishaRopeta has made history by becoming the first woman from the Pakistan’s minority Hindu community to become a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP).
26-year-old Ropeta is in the limelight for two reasons: she is in a ‘manly’ profession in male-dominated culture, and she is the first woman from the minority community to get to that level in the police force.
The senior cop belongs to a middle-class family from Jacobabad in the interior Sindh province. She cleared the Sindh Public Service Commission examination last year and ranked 16th out of 152 successful candidates.
