OUTGOING DG ISI: ADVISORY ROLE IN GULF STATE

By Asim Qadeer Rana

Islamabad, Sept 28: Though, it was not known to many, and away from Pakistan’s now controlled private media, over an abrupt change of Inter-Services-Intelligence (ISI) Lt.Gen.Nadeem Anjum, the outgoing spy-chief is likely to takeover an “Advisory role in a Gulf-State.”
Highly placed sources informed PrideNews on Saturday: “The outgoing Spy Chief is set for the international assignment linked with “Advisory role in secuirty paraphernalia of a Gulf state.”
Lt.Gen.Nadeem will be the third top military official to perform on such a strategic military assignment in the Gulf region — already facing turmoil due to escalating, and ever expanding war, and invasion unleashed by Isreal in Palestine, and now with its neighbour – Lebanon.
Other than Lt.Gen Nadeem, two other military’s retired officials have been engaged on such an assignment in the past – Lt Gen (r) Shuja Pasha and former Army Chief Gen (r) Raheel Sharif.
“Lt Gen Nadeem’s assignment will be more like his predecessor — Gen Pasha engaged on an advisory task with the UAE government, and he (Gen Nadeem) will work on almost same appointment.”
In year 2013, Gen Pasha has worked on Health and Secuirty Affairs for the UAE government.
The former Army Chief Gen Raheel Sharif is currently holding a similar colour abroad in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, undergoing his assignment as Commander of the Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition – a 41 Nation alliance of Muslim countries headquartered in Riyadh.
“Lt.Gen. Nadeem has already been given a No Objection by the General Headquarters,” added the senior defence source.
With his exceptional military career spanning over two decades, Lt.Gen Nadeem’s past record in Army has remained scintillating, and medallions on his chest highlights his outstanding performance for the military specifically in Balochistan, Sindh, and lastly at the Directorate General of the ISI.
Though, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), on a question asked by the PrideNews about Lt.Gen.Nadeem’s likely new assignment in a Gulf State, did not share any statement with this correspondent.
PrideNews will carry the version of ISPR on the story as soon as it receives though, till the filing of the story no response was received from the ISPR.

Ends.
